Words Have Power

Throughout my life I have been told that words have power. Although we might not always believe it, there are many cases in history that prove this to be fact.

Throughout human history, our greatest leaders and thinkers have used the power of words to transform our emotions, to enlist us in their causes, and to shape the course of destiny. Words can not only create emotions, they create actions. And from our actions flow the results of our lives.

Case 1: Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech is still being analysed and discussed in classes today. This speech sparked a movement for equality across the nation.

On the other spectrum we have case 2 —Adolph Hitler. Hitler used his words to gain power, and he was able to convince an entire population that one race of people were basically the root of all evil. Again, his words and actions are still analysed in classes of all levels.

If we do not believe that our words can bring about change, why should anyone else?

We at HerWit believe words have power. We want to help women shape words and amplify their ideas, passions and thoughts, positioning them as leaders in their community and beyond.

Illuminating issues that women are struggling with no matter how high up and powerful we are in the corporate, political, as an entrepreneur or any position.

Words start conversations, spark movements, and create positive change for all women today but most importantly for the next generation of young girls searching for role models that will give them hope to be whatever they want to become.
